Slowing down and observing is what inspired this painting. It is one of the first in my pollination series.
In Santa Fe hollyhocks grow wild near sidewalks, roads or anyplace a seed lands where water can be retained. They are resilient, diligent and tenacious. So are the moths who pollinate them. They arrive just before dusk and continue pollinating throughout the evening.
