BEFORE COLLABORATION WITH CUBA, THERE WAS PABLO AND LINDA
New Century Artists invites you to the solo/duo exhibition of 50 collaborative paintings by Cuban artist Pablo Perea and American artist Linda Storm. Opens JUNE 2, 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Closing reception JULY 11th, 12:00 to 3:00 PM at New Century Artists, 530 West 25th Street, Suite 406, NY,NY. Exhibit takes place JUNE 30th-JULY 11th, 2015 Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“We are friends who are artists who paint together, it doesn’t matter if Linda is a blonde American and I am a dark Cuban.” says Pablo Perea. “We paint together with confidence and humility as we assert and suppress our egos.” replies Linda Storm. Both followed separate artistic careers for decades. Fortuitously, Pablo moved in as Linda’s neighbor in rural New Mexico and their inevitable friendship developed. In 2010, Pablo invited Linda to paint with him while she grieved the loss of a beloved pet, insisting it would make her feel better. The result, titled Fate Up Against Her Will, is owned by their first collector.
Pablo and Linda are inspired by New Mexico, where mountain lions leap from mesas, antelope graze, and galaxies glow above adobe villages. They share a studio in Santa Fe where they created 150 provocative paintings so far: oil wells rooted to dinosaur fossils, homeless Virgin Marys’, and planets’ spawning new life. Storm and Perea are masters of collaboration in art and life.
See their debut solo/duo exhibition in NY, NY at New Century Artists Gallery, 530 West 25th Street, Suite 406,NY, NY on June 30th through July 11th, 2015. The opening reception will be held JUNE 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A closing reception will be held JULY 11th from noon to 3. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Their first solo exhibit took place in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2013, in 3000 square feet of gallery owned by Destiny Allison.

Pablo Perea was a physician in Cuba. He left medicine for art. Linda Storm as a Montessori teacher encouraged children to follow their bliss. Both are married to artists who applaud their duo career.
